It faces enormous change for the management mode of production system in the manufacturing industry with the rapid development of scientific technology, especially of information technology, the formation of competitive buyer's market, individuation tendency of consumer conception, establishment of global market and trade system, thriving of knowledge economics and the rising attention to continual development and environmental protection. Production control is a crucial technique to realize production planning and operative management. The production control system CONWIP -acronym for CONstant Work In Process is a production control system that appears to share the benefits of Push and pull production control system while being applicable in a wider range of situations. Therefore, studying production control holds the balance for success in lean manufacturing.In this paper, the CONWIP flowshop production control system is researched by absorbing and developing the up-to-the-minute research results.The research includes lot sizes, WIP constant and production sequencing problems.The topic first introduces in detail CONWIP production control system, analyzes the differences among CONWIP, pull and push production control system, and concludes that CONWIP is superior to pull and push in applicable situations and WIP, etc.Then, lot sizing problem is studied, and according to the character of CONWTP flowshop production control system. A CONWIP integer programming model is built, and its optimization goal is machine setup cost and inventory cost and production flow time.At last, CONWIP flowshop scheduling problem is studied, and in order to solve the CONWIP integer programming model, the heuristics are provided. As for the solving heuristics, based on the optimization of setup and inventory cost, the first step obtains lot sizes and system WIP constant. And the second step gets the better production sequence, using the CFA algorithm created in this paper.
