Analysis On The Factors Influencing The Demand Of Agricultural Insurance

The agriculture is a feeble industry, and the agricultural production is facing many natural disasters and other risks. Chinese farmers' risk transfer ability was small. So farmers need a kind of risk management mechanism to transfer agricultural risk and share the economic lost. The agricultural insurance is precisely the risk transfer mechanism that Chinese farmers needed. Jiangsu is the big agricultural production province of China; its agricultural production suffers the serious disaster attack. The management of Jiangsu province has taken attention to the agricultural insurance. Before agricultural insurance carried on in Jiangsu province, which factors are affecting the farmers' demand of agricultural insurance is the questions that must be solved at present. The domestic research about agricultural insurance majority limits to its pattern, but about farmers' demand of agricultural insurance is scarce. So, what influence farmers purchase wish of agricultural insurance is the focus of the study circle.This paper studies on the factors, which influence farmers' demand of agricultural insurance. The author tries to find out a kind of agricultural insurance pattern, which suitable the Jiangsu province present situation. As follows, six parts compose the thesis.The 1st chapter introduced the background why I choose the topic, and the research progress in this field of domestic and foreign.In the 2nd chapter, relative theories are concerned. It includes the quasi-public goods character of agricultural insurance, the demand theory, consumer behavior theory and expectation utility theory and so on.The paper's 3rd chapter expounded the development course of China agricultural insurance, natural disaster that Jiangsu province agriculture suffered and some problems of Jiangsu province agricultural insurance.In the 4th chapter, according to the questionnaire, farmers' cognition about agricultural insurance and their purchase wish were expounded by descriptive statistics.The 5th chapter analyzes the factors that influence farmers purchase wish of agricultural insurance by logit model.Based on the above analysis on the influencing factors and existing problems, the 6 chapter put forward the advices, for example, establishing many kinds of agricultural insurance variety, enlarging government subsidizes, increasing farmers' income, and so on.
