The issues of Farmers, Rural Areas and Agriculture Production are always overall and fundamental to development of the cause of the Party and the people. In recent years,the gap of income between citizens and farmers in our country is getting bigger and bigger, so how to co-ordinate the development of urban and rural areas to make farmers share the results of economic and social development and to build an overall well-off society in the countryside is becoming a great historic task in the course of modernization in China. The Central Committee of the Party timely carries out the strategic measure of Building the New Socialist Countryside, with the whole goal: within fifteen to twenty years, the looking of the rural areas changes well, the income of the farmers improves greatly and the income gap between citizens and farmers narrows sharply. China, with a large land, sees the big differences in the level of economic and social development in different regions. And in different rural areas, the developing situations are different. Thus, the reality in each area demands reasonable different strategy to build the New Socialist Countryside for its actual effect. Chengdu, an economically developed region in West China and the third national comprehensive supporting reform pilot area, is practicing the strategy of"A big city leads its large countryside", so it is very necessary and significant to make an empirical study of New-Socialist Countryside Building in Chengdu.The thesis can be mainly divided into three parts. There is the research overview of New-Socialist Countryside Building in part one, which not only introduces the background and significance of the thesis's topic, but also clarifies the relevant researches on the status quo of domestic and international Countryside Building. Part two is the demonstration of the rural development and the practice experience of New-Socialist Countryside Building in Chengdu which named"Chengdu Way". Part three is the empirical analysis of the course of Building the New Socialist Countryside and its influencing factors. According to the actual situation, firstly a more objective evaluation system of indicators is designed to measure the process of Building the New Socialist Countryside in present stage; secondly the factors which could affect New-Socialist Countryside Building is to be simply discussed by the principal component analysis and gray correlation analysis; finally six study conclusions are summarized.In short , the paper answers us the questions of"how to build the New-Socialist Countryside"and"what about the results"with Chengdu City as a case.
