Study On Integration Of Global Industries For Multinational Companies

So far,the surging merger and acquisition have become a tide in the economic history of the world for five times。Each time,leading corporations made a purposeful integration of industrial resources。Initially,they integrated the resources of all target domestic industries and gained the monopoly positions and sustainable competitive advantages in their countries。With the rapid growth of the world economy,when globalization and stateless management has become a general rule in the economic world,seeking development and expansion on a global scale also becomes an important strategy for each multinational company。Meanwhile,it is inevitable for multinational companies to integrate the strategic resources of target industries so as to gain sustainable competitive advantages on a global scale and strive for the long-term development。Reviewing the traditional theory of multinational company,we may find that all the related studies focus on the reasons why multinational companies have to make direct foreign investment and take multinational operation as well as why they have chosen to invest and operate in these countries and regions rather than those,but no light is shed on the management and development of multinational companies。In the competitive global market and from the perspective of strategic management,it is a major task to determine how multinational companies take proper strategies to gain their sustainable development on a global scale。The main content of this paper is to integrate the strategic resources of target industries on a global scale;the strategic resources integrated include the existing strategic resources of target industries throughout the world,new strategic resources formed by combining the existing strategic resources,and new resources jointly developed in the process of integration by multinational companies together with their partners。This paper has four chapters。Chapter One describes the problem,significance,methods,innovation as well as the defect of the research on which this paper is based;Chapter Two mainly analyzes a series of multinational company theories,including the monopolistic advantage theory,the internalization advantage theory,the value chain theory,the eclectic theory of international production,and the foreign direct investment theory,which guide multinational companies to integrate the global industries;Chapter Three mainly evolves around the core of the integration of global industries for multinational companies——the strategic resources,emphasizing that enterprise resource is the internal base of sustainable competitive advantages,describes the relationship among strategic resources,global competitive advantages,and excess profits of multinational companies。The chapter ends with further analysis on the obtainment of strategic resources in the integration of industries for multinational companies。Chapter Four mainly studies the problem multinational companies must face and the means they take to realize global industry integration。It covers such aspects as the obstruction,direction,and sequence of industry integration for multinational companies。Lastly,a conclusion is made to this paper: the integration of global industries is an important strategy of the global operation practice for multinational companies; with the necessity of its existence and the systematicness of its operation,it is of guiding significance to us。...
