On Thinking Characteristics Of The Elite Of Chinese Scientists

Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering academicians are the stars and elite of Chinese scientists. They have spent their time and energy creating outstanding scientific and technological achievements for our nation. Their thinking mode reflects the essence of Chinese traditional culture. Basing on the study of Thinking of Academicians, the author researches the thinking characteristics and the thinking background of academicians, who are the elite of Chinese scientists, using the method of statistics.This paper has four parts. The first part focuses on the definition and function of the thinking mode and the thinking materials that constitute the thinking mode. The second part reveals the thinking characteristics of academicians in common. Such as choosing research subjects based on the needs of our nation and the leading edge of the subjects; seeking truth from facts and combining theory with practice; treating opportunities with dialectical materialism view; using dialectical thinking to guide research; emphasizing innovation and paying attention to using creative thinking; learning while teaching and so on. The third part analyzes the background of thinking of academicians from three aspects. In the analysis of social background, the author discusses the social situation of the period when academicians was born and brought up and its effects on the academicians' thinking. In the analysis of the environment of academic groups, the author discusses the academicians' experiences of study or research abroad and expounds the effects from their mentors. In the analysis of family environment, basing on the statistics of academicians' family background, the author finds that although they have different family backgrounds, academicians' interest are trained well by their families. The fourth part examines the character of the development of science and technology in modern times and the proper thinking characteristics. It clarifies that academicians' thinking characteristics adapt to the requirements of the development of science and technology in modern times and appropriate to make scientific discoveries and technological inventions. In the paper, the second part and the third part are the main parts.
