Study On The Management Control Of Private Enterprises In China

Management control in business enterprises is conducted jointly by the board of directors, the management team and the employees. It is an old and new topic. It is old because control had appeared in this world before 3600 BC. It is also new because Chinese scholars and business executives are all studying how to set up sound management control systems in Chinese businesses.In the West, management control may no longer be a hot topic either in businesses or in the academic field because most enterprises have developed a set of management control systems. But in China the businesses, especially the private enterprises, have just begun to realize the importance of management control. Many business failures in the past few decades demonstrate the lack of the management control in Chinese private enterprises. The author of this thesis investigated in 5 Chinese private companies besides the company she works for to get the first hand information about management control, and then discussed the causes of control problems and developed some strategies for setting up management control systems in Chinese private companies.
