As the uncertainty of management environment augments, industry boundary increasingly blurs, and stability of industry structure descends, strategic focal of persistent competitive advantage of enterprise is turned to knowledge accumulating and capability cultivating in the enterprise from industry positioning outside. Since C.K. Prahalad and Gary Hamel pointed out definitely that core competence is the source of persistent competitive advantage of enterprise in their epoch-making article"The core competence of the corporation"in 1990, the theory of core competence of corporation has caused wide concern both in theory and practice fields. There are so many angles of view from theoretic literature and practical experiences on core competence of corporation, even which emerge in endlessly, that they are a series of fragmented points of view yet. Thus, it becomes the key and focal of present research that to define the core competence of corporation accurately, reveal the formation mechanism of core competence of corporation scientifically and construct the theory-method system of strategy management based on core competence of corporation.On the basis of the theory research of strategy management and core competence home and abroad, especially the points of view and practice experiences on core competence of formation, cultivation and construction, this paper analyzes the meaning, factors, interactive relationship with enterprise strategy and value creation function of core competence from the angle of leading advantage of enterprise systemically, by using the theory thoughts and methods system of comprehensive advantage of enterprise. Next, it constructs the"diamond model"on the formation of core competence of corporation, and reveals the accumulating mechanism of core competence which produced by"knowledge-value"interaction, and the dynamic evolving rule which caused by the strategic integration of factors inside and outside around the leading advantage. Then, it selects leading advantage of representative kinds and responding enterprises to study on the formation routes of core competence by the ways of both theory and demonstration analysis. Finally, it integrates the traditional strategy management theories and methods system based on the formation mechanism of core competence of corporation, and design management tactics system of core competence of enterprise, in order to offer theory and method guidance for the recognition, cultivation, strategic application and flexible management of core competence of corporation.
