With the increasing development of urban economy and more thriving of urban distribution demand, our country's city distribution system's planning has been put forward. As an important tache of city distribution system's planning, there has been many research on the location of city distribution center. From the relative references, the studies of the method of distribution center location are scarcity, which start from city distribution system as a whole, and synthetically considering items of influence factors especially the system Inventory. All of these need to urgent solve in the city distribution center integrally planning. this thesis set about research on it, the main achievements of this thesis are as followed:(1) Introduced the developing status of city distribution center location on the circumstance of supply chain, analysised the existing methods of location, and pointed out their characteristics and deficiencies, then put forward the research emphasis and significance of this thesis.(2) Introduced the relative concepts of city distribution, city distribution center location, and the inventory theories which have improtant influence on distribution center location. The relative theories of multi-echelon inventory have been elaborate.(3) Synthetically analysised the relationship with transportation cost, inventory cost, construction cost of distribution center etc in distribution center system. On the condition of a certain level of logistic service, adopted concentrated and nonconcentrated multi-echelon inventory management strategies, and established models of city distribution center location. Take the minimum whole cost of logistic system as objective function to calculate the optimal city distribution center location.(4) On the base of established distribution center location models, this thesis designed a multiple distribution centers location algorithm, easily been realized by computer. This algorithm combined with location optimization method and multi-echelon inventory optimization method, through iteration to get the optimal plan.(5) This thesis calculated the case, and got the optimal result. Analysised the differences between the distribution center location models, adopted concentrated and nonconcentrated multi-echelon inventory management strategies. Obtained that the model which adopted concentrated multi-echelon inventory management strategy could reduce more cost of logistic system, and distribute resource more reasonable.
