With economic globalization and information wave, enterprises are facing a fastchanging business environment and great uncertainty. It is the uncertainty that leadsto frequent outbreak of crises; the product crisis is one of major enterprises' crises. Ifenterprises manage it improperly, it will affect the survival and development ofenterprises seriously. But many domestic enterprises face product crises, they oftenlack necessary measures and methods, as a result their brands and image areimpaired, product markets shrinks. Therefore how to deal effectively with the productcrisis is a new issue domestic enterprises are facing.This paper explains the management of products crisis. In fact, it is informationprocess from the viewpoint of information management. Information managementlevels of enterprises have direct and great influence on the success or failure ofproduct crisis management. But few scholars have made in-depth, systematic study ofproduct crisis management from the perspective of information management, whichis a problem that the paper tries hard to solve. Typical cases are selected in order tosupport the viewpoints put forward in the paper, which not only avoids some inanestatements, and also provides abundant materials for enriching crisis managementtheories.The paper also analyzes enterprises' problems during solving product crisis, andpoints out shortages of the enterprise product crisis information management, andputs forward some strategies: to set up the early-warning information system duringthe product crisis prevention stage, to solve the product crisis by valid informationcommunication during the crisis explosion stage, to carrying out the product crisisinstauration work by using information during the crisis recovery stage.Finally, the paper makes a preliminary study of education and training of thecrisis information management professionals.
