Ever since the 1990s, as the economic globalization process has obviously beenaccelerated, the foreign capitals flowing into China have increased by 28.9 percentevery year. Since 1993, China has been the second largest country in capital flowingfor years in the world with America ranking first and has exceeded America in 2002.Meanwhile, the export volume of machinery and electric products has been increasingat full speed, from US$16.8 million in 1985 to US$4267.5 million by2005,increasingby more than 254 times within 21 years, obviously it plays a leading role in theinternational trade. In addition, the exports structure of machinery and electricproducts has also been changing very greatly.This paper makes a systematic and deep-going study of the relationship betweenthe FDI and the export of the machinery and electric products. From the aspect of thetotal amount increasing and the phenomenon of obvious Structural improvementbased on the large-scale growth of FDI general volume rowing into China. In researchmethodology the theoretic analysis and case-study are both used. This paper first toexpound the theory of foreign trade influencing the development of the internationaltrade, then to examine the correlation of FDI growth and the general volume increaseof the export of the machinery and electric products with detailed data. later it provesthe effective promotion of FDI to the improvement of the export of the machinery andelectric products from the aspect of the export trade market and the export trade structure, Finally it draws the conclusion, and puts forward some practicalcountermeasures of how to bring FDI functions into full play.
