Since the implementation of the opening and reform policy, China has obtaineddistinctive achievements in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI for short). FDI plays akey role in the speedy growth of China's economy. However, there is a seriousimbalance in the utilization of FDI among different areas of China. In the year 2005,the utilization of FDI in middle area containing six provinces of China is 8.877 billionUSD, it's only 12.25% of the amount of China, while in the east it's over 80%. Theimbalance in the structure of getting FDI in our country has accelerated the imbalanceof economic development of the east, the middle and the west of China. Till now, many researches have been carried out to study the relationship between FDI and theeconomic growth of our country. But there are seldom researches on the middle andwest part of China, which get much less FDI than the east. This thesis is a survey bout the relationship between FDI and the economicgrowth of the middle regions. Taking the middle region as the point, this thesissystematically analyzes the influence of FDI to the economic growth of the middleregions. It reviews the documents of correlative theory and the empirical analysis inthis thesis. Based on the knowledge of correlative theory, the following jobs are doneby way of econometrics testing:①The effect of FDI to enterprises' technologicaladvance in middle regions.②The contribution of FDI to imports and exports ofmiddle regions.③The influence of FDI on the industrial structure in middle regions.④The empirical analysis on the effect of FDI to the economical growth in middleregions. As a result, we find that the contribution of FDI to middle regions is lowerthan that of FDI to our country. The empirical analysis of the above is the innovationof the thesis.
