The Application Of The Value Engineering In The Housekeeping Management Of Hotel

Upon today, the value engineering theory has been applied in many professions in our country and has obtained remarkable effects. On the other hand, its application in tourism is still at the start stage in our country. The research of its application in the hotel guest room management is basically in blank. This article is based on the foundation of the predecessors' research works, unifying the reality of hotel guest room management, shows a preliminary discussion on the application of value engineering theory in the hotel guest room management.On the property management, the production management and the human resources management, the author tries to solve three problems: how to dispose low value materials, how to do clean work and how to employ the staff. The following conclusions are based on the experimental foundation and the real diagnosis analysis.First, the application of value project theory in the hotel guest room, may play both reduces the cost of the low value materials, and guarantees the quality of materials, so that it can turn the maximization of the value into realization. In the author's experiment, by using the value project theory, the cost of the low value materials in the guest rooms is with a reduction of 13.8％.Second, in the clean work of guest room, the application of value project theory may cause the procession of guest room clean work more scientific and more rational, enhancethe labor effects, reduce the manpower cost, and keep the function of the guest room invariable. In author's experiment, the average of each guest room work time is with a reduction of 13.1％, the labor efficiency is with an enhancement of 15.5％. Third, in the employment of guest room staff, the application of value project theory, may reduce the cost of employment advertise, gain human resources effectively.The conclusion of this article is that the application of value project theory in the hotel guest room management is operative, benefit and effective. It has the important practical significance to enhance the labor efficiency, reduce staff draining rate and improve the hotel guest room management level.
