The development of international trade speeds up as the economic becomes globalization. Container transport as a major means of international transport of goods has been given a new request. Based on this situation, this dissertation attempts to utilize the modern logistics theory and advance information technology to explore how to realize tracking international container transport to solve the problem of international container transport, such as fault information, safety management and inspection and container apparatus management. First of all, the author made a comparison of logistic track technologies in home and abroad, point out the superiority and feasibility of applying RFID to track international container transport, and develop an international container transport tracking model based on RFID. This conceptual model including five parts: the container decentralized recognition system, the operation platform (both in land and ship), the analysis decision-making alarming system, the public supervising and management system and some operators and managers such as cargo owner and carrier. Secondly, based on the conceptual model of first part, the author furthers to develop an international container transport tracking platform based on RFID. The paper discusses how to realize the platform in four steps: selection and design of hardware, planning the platform overall construction scheme, researching the platform service architecture and designing the platform function structure. After that, the author made a comparison of some platform core functions before and after realizing container tracking, like container yard management, container tracking and goods tracking. The analysis of application system of container tag system for two ports and one shipping line verifies the validity of realizing international container transport tracking using RFID. Thirdly, through constructing the mathematical model, the author evaluates the benefits of international container transport tracking from a quota angle. Finally, based on a broader framework, this dissertation argues the problem of advancing tracking international container transport, and proposes some solution from different angels, such as policy formulation, standard construction, infrastructure construction and system reform.
