Along with China's economic reform and more labor supply, structural contradiction in employment is more and more serious, even the quality of workforce can not adapt the requirements of economic development and technology progress. Therefore, enlarging employment is not only a economic and social problem, but also an important politial issue, it has nature of importance, urgency and long-term. It is closely related with interest of people, stability of society and goal of building a well-off society.Focusing on employment problem in northeast region and basing on comprehensive summarization of documents, this paper studies employment problem from perspective of labor market segmentation. Further more it analyzes the current state and cause of labor market segmentation, also the impact on employment from institutional divison and market segmentation.Referring to the foreign and domestic studies, this passage is divided in four parts:In chapter one, through empirical analysis of Jilin Province, we know that it goes against Okun's Law during Jilin Province's economic development. Thus the conclusion is economic growth is inconsistent with employment growth in northeast region.Chapter two is the theoretical research on relation between economic growth and employment in northeast area, and analyzes it from advanced technology and industrial structure.Chapter three first divides labor market segmentation into institutional division and market segmentation on the basis of comprehensive summarization of theory on it. Then it discusses the significance on employment flexibility, employment problem and unemployment.Chanpter four comes up with the strategies for solving employment in northeast area. It establishes employment priority strategy from developing technology positively, adjusting industrial structure and eliminating urban-rural segmentation.
