At present, research on the traditional and agricultural region has already become one of academic hot topics. In this article, the traditional and agricultural region refers to the inland plain area where there is a lack of minable natural resources, an exceedingly high proportion of agricultural economy, a large population but the backward mode of thinking and"petty farm consciousness"and a relatively slow economic development. Its spacial sphere roughly includes the area from the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain in the North to Tongbai Mountain in the South, from the coastal area along Bo Sea and Yellow Sea in the East to the western foot of Taihang Mountain and Funiu Mountain. As the live fossil of Chinese traditional and agricultural society, the low-level agricultural production has being been the main economic activity in this region for a long time, and the local people's thought also is very conservative. So,the whole region has being fallen into the low-level balance trap and couldn't extricate itself since long ago. Therefore, research on its industrializing and reforming way has very big practical significance in the current crucial period of comprehensively constructing well-off society and coordinating regions'development. It benefits not only to increasing people's blessing of this region, but also to deepening the reform and speeding up the realization of common enrichment. And then, it also is one important subject of socialist construction which has Chinese characteristic. So, the practical significance is out of the ordinary. Next, distinguished to some formerly macroscopic research, this article tries to find an effective industrializing and reforming way for the traditional and agricultural region from the microscopic stratification, so, it also has some theory value. After reviewing some correlated documents and studying the present research situation of both domestic and foreign scholars of this field, the article raised that the traditional and agricultural region can start its industrializing process and finally achieve society transformation only by transferring its surplus labor to the outside for the lack of resources and location advantage, and then, the huge population pressure was one of the reasons, too.The article's structure can be listed as the following: firstly, it determined the traditional and agricultural region again from both theory and region angles on the base of studying area reality. And then, using the AHP level analytic method and taking Henan Province for example, it constructed a relative perfect system to appraise the agricultural population pressure as scientifically as possible. The appraisal result showed that most countries(cities) of the traditional and agricultural region of Henan province had big or the biggest agricultural population pressure, and this conclusion provided a good support for the following further analysis; Secondly, using some analysis frame of western economics and regional economics, this article proved from the angles of both production and consumption that the industrializing and developing way raised above was effective to the traditional and agricultural region;Thirdly, using the measurement software of SPSS, this article analyzed the barrier factors which hindered the traditional and agricultural region to execute the above developing mechanism effectively, and it found some key factors which should be paid much more attention. According to these, the article raises some rather useful advice. The final chapter of this article is a case, which is formed on the base of investigation to Gushi country, Henan provence.Gushi has achieved some extraordinary success by executing the industrializing mechanism referred on the above. By showing massive detailed materials, this chapter provided a reality strut to research conclusion of this article, and further strengthened its persuasive power again.
