A Study On Cooperation Between Pearl River Delta's RIS And Hongkong's RIS

This paper has adopted both the theory of Regional Innovation System (RIS) and the theory of regional economic cooperation. Analytical method of induce and compare is used as well. The clue of cooperation between Pearl River Delta's RIS and Hongkong's RIS runs through the full text. A large amount of data is applied to show the current development of the manufacturing industry in Pearl River Delta and Hongkong and a comparatively objective conclusion has been reached.Firstly, different kinds of viewpoints from home and abroad scholars are summed up in this paper. Secondly, the point that cooperation of different RIS creates more innovations is put forward, the driving force mechanism, the factors affecting cooperation of different RIS and the patterns and stages of cooperation of different RIS are suggested. This paper has also showed industrial set-ups evolution of Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong and pointed out that manufacturing industry of Pearl River Delta is being in the promotion stage with high-end service in great need , the problem that the manufacturing industry of Hong Kong is shrinking is a headache for Hongkong government with the upgrading service industry. The advantage of Pearl River Delta's manufacturing industry depends on heavy industry and electric accessories such as petrochemical industry, automobile, machinery equipment, high and new technology industry such as machinery equipment fabrication, electronic information, biotechnology, while Hong Kong's manufacturing industry takes spinning and weaving clothing as representative. This paper divides the cooperation of Pearl River Delta's RIS and Hongkong's RIS into three stages. The factors affecting the cooperation of Pearl River Delta's RIS and Hongkong's RIS are submitted as well as policy suggestion in the end. Through these studies, we have obtained such a clear conclusion: The cooperation of Pearl River Delta's RIS and Hongkong's RIS is good for reconstruction of Hongkong's manufacturing industry. The cooperation of Pearl River Delta's RIS and Hongkong's RIS can be compared to be an accelerator which will make the industry of Both Pearl River Delta and Hongkong upgrade quickly.
