| Between Hong Kong and the PRD there is a regional division of labor ties, which have been graphically described as "Store in the front, factory in the back" .Today, the relationship between Hong Kong and PRD is no longer a simple "store in the front, factory in the back", stepping out from the inter-regional division of labor in the Hong Kong-funded manufacturing enterprises: the production and processing link in PRD and the pre-producing and post-producing link in Hongkong, it has turned into the pattern that PRD engages in manufacturing and Hong Kong engages in the producer services, such as financing and intermediation and coordination. This evolution is promoted by the industrial agglomeration. This paper aims to establish a theoretical frame, from the perspective of industrial agglomeration to explain the evolution of the regional division of labor on the basis of the traditional theory of comparative advantages, thus acquire the theoretical significance; And we will make some policy recommendations in coordinating the development of two regions and gain more economic benefits from the regional division from the demonstration, which is the practical significance of this paper.This paper begins from theoretical basis of the regional division of labor and the industrial agglomeration, finds that the majority of studies are limited to descriptions of phenomena among the existing research in the regional division between Hong Kong and PRD, few researches dig for the advanced theoretical causes, moreover, few literatures study the interrelated mechanism of the regional division of labor and industrial agglomeration. The paper expands Weber's industrial location theory to analyze the regional division of labor and industrial agglomeration mechanism, and note that the interrelated mechanism between regional division and industrial agglomeration.The paper first reviews the theories of regional division of labor and industrial agglomeration, the current research state and empirical literatures, and then expands Weber's theory, outreaching and range of regional factors and agglomeration factors, building a theoretical frame to make some theoretical discussion about the mechanism of the formation and evolution of the regional division of labor and industrial agglomeration; Then the paper will carry out the empirical analysis of the regional division between Hong Kong and PRD and their industrial agglomeration mechanism with the theoretical frame above; The relationship between the manufacturing industry and producer service industry is explained in it , and the agglomeration characteristics of producer services will be specially discussed. Finally, in the light of the foregoing analysis, conclusions and policy are given. |
