After fast development of several dozens years, The Mutual Fund Industry followed the Banking Industry, the Securities Business and the Insurance Industry has becomes another big prop of the financial system , Each kind of Funds starts to play the more and more vital role in the economical investment area. Along with " The Mutual Fund Law" appearing, Mutual Fund Industry starts to march into the fast development phase. The market status has been enhanced and the influence of the the stock market also has been strengthened day by day .The fast development of Mutual Fund not only has enriched the investment varieties, impelled the stock market development standardized, then provided the more opportunities to the investor , but also bring unprecedented competition to the Fund Industry. The good and evil of the Fund Industry also set the new request to government department. How to evaluate the performance of the Mutual Fund has become an urgent question, while the Market Timing Ability is the most main index. This article make a real diagnosis research on performance of Mutual Fund in China from this aspectThe article divides to five parts. The first part introduced the research on performance analysis of Mutual Fund that made by scholars from domestic and foreign at fist ,and the second elaborated the concept of fund Market Timing Ability in detail, At the end made a summary induction of the research model and the correlation research. The second and the third part is real diagnosis, mainly studies the performance characteristic as well as Market Timing Ability through analysing performance data of 10 Close-end Funds from 2004 to 2006, The fourth part mainly to analysis the factors which affect the Mutual Fund in our country. Then provide several policies suggestions to our Mutual Fund in the fifth part.
