Rresearch On Evaluating The Competitive Ability Of Tourism Of Chongqing Based On Rough Set

MICE is a tremendous industry in the world. It involved architecture, desigh, construction, logistics, communication, advertisement, food, shopping, travel and accommodation industries and etc. It could cultivate bonds of new industries which will be developed directly or indirectly. All of these is advantageous to promote structure of industries. MICE is important part of City tourism, which bings to the attention to the world as a special eonomic activity. It is developed vigorously in most contries in the world as a new product from the last decade, when China did also pay attention to MICE. So the theory of MICE should be studied in academic circles, and it is so important both in theory and practice.At present, many scholars have done lots of research on evaluating the competitive ability of tourism, but they have done little of research on evaluating the competitive ability of the MICE. And also the index system and the proposed models still have some deficiency. First, this paper analyzes the economic effects of MICE industry and the correlative concepts, and selects MICE and tourism development, ability of government management, ability of economic development, ability of culture development and technical innovation, infrastructure and environment development as the classified indexes, then establishes a new assessing index system of the competitive ability of the MICE according to the necessary principles. Yet there still exists correlation among the indexes and some indexes are difficult to collect, which causes inaccurate results. Therefore, we introduce the rough set theory, which has the advantage of reducing attributes and eliminating redundant information, and proposed a new model based on rough set to evaluate the competitive ability of the MICE.Finally, we use the new evaluation method based on rough set to evaluate the competitive ability of the MICE in 11 cities on the basis of the proposed index system. Then we analyze the result of the evaluation and compare Chongqing with the other provinces in China. At last, this paper brings forward some suggestions on how to improve Chongqing's MICE industry the competitive ability and boost its development.In this research, a new tourism industry performance evaluation method based on rough set is proposed, which utilizes the rough set to filter the indexes to consummate the index system. This method improved the results'integrality and objectivity compared with traditional methods.
