Since China carried the "open-door" policy and kept contactwith more and more countries, economic globalization has becomethe enforceable tendency in the world. The economists have beenpaying attention to the effect that economic globalization bringsto each country. For one country, economic globalization haseffect on its economic welfare level, and especially on itsdomestic income distribution gap.Based upon the theoretical analysis of economic globalizationand the historical experience of other countries and our country, this dissertation assesses the impact of the economicglobalization on the income distribution, analyzes the mechanismof the effect, and argues relevant policies of manipulation inthe context of economic globalization. This dissertation has sixchapters, of which contents are briefly discussed. The first chapter introduces the background and significanceof this research, and summarizes the relevant academic researchof foreign and our Chinese economists. The second chapter first introduces the basic content of theincome distribution gap, and illustrates the basic content of theeconomic globalization, then explains the theoretical mechanismof this impactThe third chapter exemplifies its effect on the nationalstructure of other countries in the world. The analysis is dividedinto two parts: the developed country and the developing country. From the analysis, we can see that as the economic globalizationgrows deep, the structure of income distribution of many countrieswill become worse. The fourth chapter reviews this impact upon the change of ourcountry after the Open Policy. The income distribution policy has been changed thoroughly, with which the most distinctive is thequick enlargement of differences of income distribution, thedifferences that appear between city and countryside, and amongthemselves. It could be said that, from the 20 years' reform, itis the economic globalization that has directly or indirectly madethis wider gap of differences. The fifth chapter analyzes the future impact on our country'sincome distribution. The entrance into WTO of our country willintroduce much more direct and thorough impact on our society. The future change of income distribution will be more complicated,in other words, there will be factors of further of socialdisparity and factors of social parity. Economic turbulence, international capital flow and fierce competition ofglobalization are all factors that lead to the wider gap of incomeof people. On the other hand, the economic globalization will askfor the better adjustment of economic structure and system. The last chapter argues the possible adjustment of ourcountry's policies in the context of economical globalization. It is important to choose policies under the consideration of notonly upon the social protection of ordinary people, but also uponthe maintenance of economic development and internationalcompetence of domestic products. This would be required thecombination of social and government manipulation.
