| Based on the external and internal environment of GXCNC, the author explored the Wireless Business strategies of GXCNC, and proposed the strategic roadmap of wireless business and implementation details.The main conclusions are as follows:By scanning and evaluating the external environment on the wireless business of GXCNC via basic methodologies of strategic management, the author concluded the following characteristics on the environment of the wireless business of GXCNC. First, GXCNC faced a relatively sound macro-environment, especially, the networks substitution 3G from technology innovation for traditional wireless and fixed networks would bring new opportunities for GXCNC. Second, the market capacity was still increasing but the growth rate was decreasing. Third, competitive pressures from competing sellers were the strongest among the five forces that affected the corporate growth, but threat from potential new entrants was weakest. Forth, the strongest competition in Guangxi wireless market was from GXTELECOM's PHS service and mobile services of China Mobile. Fifth, GXCNC's responses to opportunities and challenges were over the average industry level. Finally, in grasp of key success factors of wireless business, GXCNC was less than Guangxi Mobile but higher both GXTELECOM and Guangxi Unicom.②In despite of its some weakness, GXCNC still had some strength in developing wireless business. Through the analysis on SWOT, value chain and competition advantages, the author drew a conclusion that with comparison of other carriers in Guangxi, GXCNC had more flexible management mechanism, stronger employee's enthusiasm, more options of technology and significant space for industry cooperation. The weakness included lack of financing, unbalanced revenue of business, weak ability to anti-risk. Therefore GXCNC must take some measures to enhance its competition advantages, including :a)adopt more efficient and cost-saving network; b)acquire the mobile telecommunication license in order to make full use of the advantages form fixed-mobile convergence; c)impose the strategic alliance to acquire complement resources; d) build a more efficient organization with good marketing and management competence.③The author proposed that the differentiation was the privilege choice for developing wireless business of GXCNC. Through the analysis of BCG and TOWS, the growth of wireless industry was focused on mobile, data, and added-value services. The differentiation in the service could be attained form fixed and mobile networks convergence, service diversity and integrated marketing networks,etc.. At the same time, cost saving and some niche markets should be paid more attention to. ④Using the Three-layer growth methodology from McKinsey & Company, the author also proposed a three-layer growth roadmap for developing wireless business of GXCNC. First, by developing the wireless applications based on 3.5G microwave equipment,SCDMA etc., GXCNC could keep a increasing cash income; Second, by deploying fixed broadband, Data value-added business and 3G. GXCNC would be able expect a high growth in three years later. Third, by supplying services based on fixed and wireless convergence, GXCNC would obtain the competition advantages during in late 3G times.⑤The author also discussed how to implement well the strategy to build competitive advantages of GXCNC .The article proposed that brand building and diversity of products and services, strategic alliance, distribution channels, high efficiency organization and support system, R&D etc. were the key for GXCNC to succeed in wireless business. |
