Many countries and regions have established their own Award for Quality Management since the United States began to grant the Award in 1987, such as Daming Award of Japan and European Quality Award of Europe. The Chinese Quality Management Award based on the Model for Performance Excellence was initiated by China Quality Association in 2001.The paper introduces the concepts, the eleven core viewpoints of value (Visionary Leadership, Customer-Driven Excellence, Organizational and Personal Learning, Valuing Employees and Partners, Agility, Focus on Future, Managing for Innovation, Management by Fact, Social Responsibility, Focus on Results and Creating Value, Systems Perspective), seven categories, as well as the characteristics of the Model for Performance Excellence, and analyzes in detail the features of the Model compared with ISO9000 quality management system and total quality management. Furthermore, it explains why YF Company chooses the Model as its development foundation.The paper, later, introduces in five parts how YF Company implements the Model. Firstly, it improves the organizational leadership and strategy through enterprise culture; secondly, it enhances customer satisfaction with the Beyond-customer's-expectation project; thirdly, it enlarges resources system by strengthening suppliers'capacity; fourthly, it optimizes the process management through process integration of the original ISO/TS16949,ISO14000 and OHSAS18000 management systems; fifthly, it reveals its own advantages, weakness, opportunities and threats with external and internal indicators. As implementing a series of projects, YF Company obtains excellent operational performance, and accumulates experience and lessons of implementing the Model.The paper aims, studying the implementation of the Model for Performance Excellence in YF Company, at providing related conclusions to the companies which have had some basis of quality management, in terms of some referable methods to execute the Model, so as to implement the Model better, enhance the core competency of the company, gain excellent performance in operation, and thus stand high among the fierce competition in the market.
