A Study On International Environmental Competitiveness

With more emphasis being put on environmental protection, more greentrade being materialized, and the event of China's joining WTO, variouscountries involved in the international trade are experiencing increasinglyfierce competition and challenge. Therefore, how to strengthen the environmentcompetitiveness has become an urgently problem, which needs studying.Based on the Industrial International Competitiveness Theory and thetheory of environmental protection and the industrial internationalcompetitiveness, this article defines the International environmentcompetitiveness and indicates the connotation of it. And also, based on theinternational competitiveness model in International Economics, it makes andefinition of the International Environment Competitiveness model, i.e.[resources of Green Competitiveness+environment of Green Competitiveness]×Green Competitiveness process=Environment CompetitivenessThis article makes fully consideration of the environment factor whenreferring to International Competitiveness and consummates the theory ofInternational Competitiveness with the putting forward of InternationalEnvironment Competitiveness Theory. Further more, it has constructed theframe of the International Environment Competitiveness Theory as follows:taking consideration of green information collection ability, green productsR&D ability, green productivity, green marketing ability, environmentmanagement system and the green life cycle such six factors, this articleanalyzes the International Environment Competitiveness Theory, which is a complete analysis for the first time on this theory.Empirical analysis on textile clothing industry has strengthened this theory.It analyses six indexes, i.e., the green product R&D input, the environmentsymbol and the label, the environment standardized level, the environmentalpollution's treatment level, the "three wastes" synthesis use rate, the export rateof increment as well as the enterprise profit-making ability. On the one hand ithas confirmed the above theory frame, that is to say it's rational and feasible.On the other hand it has also discovered the trend of our textile clothingindustry's environment competitiveness as well as the neck-bottle andinsufficiency of this industry development. Thus proposes the concrete methodto enhance the international environmental competitiveness of this industry.
