The Research Of China FDI In Asean

The new wave of multi-national investment is springing up as the nowadaysdevelopment of both economic globalization and regionalism. The FDI (ForeignDirect Investment) is both an important feature of economic globalization andthe main force in world economic growth. Facing up to the fierce internationalcompetition, only by means of developing FDI, establishing the internationalproduction system in terms of multi-national operating, can a country hold apredominant position in future competition. China is in the same condition,aiming to boost the economic development, optimize industry structure andenhance the competition of Chinese enterprises, it should seize the opportunetime in world economy regulation by adapting to the trend of development inworld economy, participate in the co-operation and develop the FDI timely andmoderately.Stepping into the 21st century, the negotiation and implementation of CAFTA(China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement) is sprung up to be a global focus. Takingthe economic globalization and regionalism as background, this paper reviewsthe development courses of China FDI in ASEAN, and represents the characteristicin the present stage by analyzing the status of FDI of Chinese enterprises.According to those characteristics, this paper applies Dunning' eclecticparadigm of international production, Wells's mall-scale technology theory andLail's technology adaptation theory to analyze at all aspects of China FDI inASEAN. Though Chinese enterprises have made heavy progress in FDI in ASEAN,and have formed certain competitive advantages, there are still a lot ofquestions, which become disadvantages when enterprises participate in globalcompetition. This paper researches and analyzes the existed disadvantages andsubmits corresponding suggestions, and hopes having certain significance toChina FDI in ASEAN, thus enables China FDI in ASEAN to develop quicker and better.
