Study On Network Planning Technology, Critical Chain Project Management And Project Progress Management

It is 40's year that project management appeared in USA. Its means, theory, application method, and soft tool have achieved very maturity phase. Progress Management is the key management that ensures the project to be completed on time. This thesis is based on project progress management, and the focus is to integrate the network planning technology and critical chain project management and to consolidate a real case in order to have a detailed discussion of the progress management method of the project.At the beginning of this thesis, we reviewed the relevant theories about progress management: project management, progress management, network planning technology and critical chain project management. Then we analyzed the difference and possible advantages and disadvantages between network planning technology and critical chain project management in the estimation of task time and the plan of project progress, and we integrated the network planning technology and critical chain project management in the estimate of task time and the plan of project progress. In the following chapters, we analyzed the limitation of progress management in a project of new product development, discussed the application of network planning technology and critical chain project management by case study. In fact, it could be elaborated from three aspects: (1) Design of Progress Plan: Via analyzing the data for new product development project. In the aspect of project requirements, duration, resources using network planning technology and critical chain project management to ameliorate the design of progress plan; (2) Improvement of project implementation: based on network planning technology theory for the purpose of improvised the initial project implementation progress. With proper adjustment, making it to satisfy the initial project requirements; (3) Control of Project Implementation: based on the critical chain project management develop the method of control of project implementation in the project.This essay adopts methodologies both from research on theories and practical implementation. At the same time, it refers to extracts both from domestic and overseas. Based on the present project theories and actual application development, we integrate the network planning technology and critical chain project management and use MS project 2003 in progress management. It has good reference values in general to normalize and improve the progress management standard in all industries.
