Urbanization is inevitable trend of social & economic development, is the most important and full-scale social transformation in human history, is with fail to come into being the social phenomenon which social work division runs to the certain historic phase, takes on the profound historic inevitability and social necessity. As one of significant symbol of social progress, urbanization is becoming the perpetual increased power and headspring in China's regional economy. Therefore, working out the reasonable estimation to urbanization level, turns into the question that the local governments are paying attention at all levels.But, actual the measurement ways and means of urbanization level have comparative singularity, and exists the prodigious limitation, only can depict from a certain aspect character. Due to lack of multilayer horizontal and vertical comparison, it can completely and truly reflect the local urbanization level. As the vital province in western China, Sichuan is existing to be characteristic of few number, small scale and unbalanced distributing on cities, how to grasp the huge development opportunity from urbanization, in order to accelerate the urbanization development of Sichuan province, to realize to hasten regional economic, social development level and boost up sustainable development ability, becomes the important problems that faced Sichuan province.The dissertation is on the basis of defining urbanization and expatiating the theory & common rules of urbanization, from five aspects which are population, economy, zoned sight, lifestyle, life-quality, environmental state to establish a suit of comprehensive evaluation index system of urbanization development level, then brings to bear the evaluation index system to carry the comprehensive evaluation measurement research on urbanization development level through 18 cities in Sichuan province. At the same time, to rank and divide the levels on the result of measurement; Finally, the countermeasure and suggestion about accelerating the urbanization development course of Sichuan province are put forward.The dissertation is composed of five chapters.Chapter One: Introduction, presents the meaning of research, as well as urbanization measurement research status quo both at home and abroad; the purpose, the problem to solve and research method are brought forward.Chapter Two: "The basic theory of urbanization and its development common rules". It expatiates the concept of urbanization, the basic theory of urbanization & its development common rules are presented.Chapter Three: "Comprehensive measurement of urbanization development level". This chapter is composed of three sections: the design on evaluation index system of urbanization development level; the evaluation method of urbanization development level; the calculation on comprehensive exponents of urbanization development level.Chapter Four: "Comprehensive measurement application analysis of urbanization development level of Sichuan province". It's part of demonstration analysis in this dissertation. Firstly analyse Sichuan's circumstances and general situation of Sichuan urbanization course after liberation. On the basis of chapter three's analysis, apply the analytical hierarchy process(AHP), Delphi and fuzzy subordination degree to comprehensive measurement; moreover, arrange ranking and divide levels; at last, about every hierarchy cities are analysed briefly.Chapter Five: "Countermeasure suggestion for hastening urbanization development of Sichuan province". Aim at Sichuan's actual fact, the suggestion measures of boosting urbanization course step of Sichuan province are put forward from four different aspects.Finally, it is conclusion of the dissertation. It sums up the research of the article and points out the way of needing to probe more.
