A Financing Strategies Study Of Large-Scale Hydropower Construction Based On The Three Gorges Project

The rapid economic progress has enlarged the demand for electric power in China today, but the reserves of coal, oil and gas assume a short-supply trend. Despite the fact that the development of hydroelectric resource has become an effective way to relieve the situation, it is still restricted by financing problems.After analyzing the financial situation of China's large-scale hydropower stations and its restricted elements, the author constructs a system of financing strategies fit for China on the basis of the financing strategies and patterns of the Three Gorges Project .This system consists of environment construction, strategies design, executive plan and optimal capital structure. The application of the system will help to form a better financing cycle and promote the development of large-scale hydropower construction.
