Tea is the traditional industries and an important pillar in the rural economy of Yunnan. Tea has special status in the economic society of Yunnan. While tea is the important industry,; the other hand, Yunnan tea is the important export commodities, playing the irreplaceable and important role with other crops and industries. In particular, these recent years, Unique varieties of Yunnan tea — Puer tea has developed rapidly by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan markets, and domestic sales are also good, thereby stimulating export of tea. In the Southeast Asian market, European markets and the Americas markets, tea has been widely welcomed.The papers on the basis of international trade theory, through analyzing Yunnan Puer tea export status, defined the Yunnan Puer tea current export trend; through analyzing the advantages of Yunnan Puer tea, show the Yunnan tea competitive strengths which include : resources, locational advantages, policies and standards advantages, export comparative advantages, geographical origin of products protection system and advantages of low tariffs; and suggest four main areas : Green barriers and health quality issues, market issues, geographical origin of products protection system and competition of other provinces about Yunnan Puer tea export. To address the above issues, the papers finally make the feasibility of the proposals and measures about expanding the Yunnan Puer tea exports.In the increasingly fierce competition of World tea trade, the exports of Yunnan Puer tea has distinctly competitive advantage.
