The Research On The Tourism Property Of Convention & Exhibition And Its Planning

As economic globalization is speeding up and international exchanges are becoming more frequent, convention and exhibition activities, as the key means to promote economic exchanges and trade, are arresting wider attentions from many countries and regions in the world, because of tremendous boosting role of their aggregation and radiation effect on the development of the national economy and the reconstruction of industrial structure.Although convention and exhibition activities are blooming, the research into them is still relatively simple, and it has same issues with tourism science. Due to systematic theory deficiency and urgent practice demand, the study on two relative concepts of convention and exhibition and tourism is focused on application fields and lacking theoretic content, especially basic theoretic content. To change the situation, on basis of the analysis of documents and data, in the approach of induction and comparison, the fundamental theory on convention and exhibition and tourism (basic concept and comparative research) is studied systematically deeply, to fill the theoretic gap. The concept system of tourism property is created to analyze the features of convention and exhibition activities. Because the planning is the core of the development of convention and exhibition activities, trial tourism-property-based studies on the planning of such activities are conducted. The studies are expected to promote the combination of convention and exhibition and tourism and the development of convention and exhibition activities, to expand the research into the planning of convention and exhibition, and to improve the developing theoretic system of convention and exhibition.The empirical approach is also applied in such studies. The studies consist of five parts, Preface (Chapter 1 Preface), Basic Theory (Chapter 2 Restudies of Basic Theory and Chapter 3 Studies of the Tourism Property of Convention and Exhibition), Application Theory (Chapter 4 Trial Tourism-Property-Based Studies on the Planning of Convention and Exhibition) and Conclusion (Chapter 5 Conclusions). Chapter 1 describes the background, significance, present situation overview and logic structure of the topic studies. Chapter 2 begins with the discrimination and discussion of tourism and convention and exhibition concepts, and defines precisely two concepts. Chapter 3, based on the previous, compares convention and exhibition and tourism in nature, defines the tourism property, discovers the tourism property of convention and exhibition, and create the correlative modes between convention and exhibition and tourism depending on different tourism properties. Chapter 4, based on the tourism property of convention and exhibition, studies preliminarily the planning of convention and exhibition by applying tourism science and tourism planning theory.
