This article is a constituent of the soft sciences research project of the construction department—"the Existence Form and the Development Basis of the Low Density Community",as the background research from the urban land aspect, carries on macroscopic angle of the urban low density community. Take the spot to the urban land research, with the multi-disciplines knowledge as the economic, the sociology, the urban geography, the urban planning and so on, research the relations between land law system and the housing, the influence that the urban land utilization to the city in various types housing space, as well as the direct relations of the land development intensity and the residence construct density, makes the analysis of the reasonable existence space and the development direction to the low density community. In view of some questions exists land resource development and the housing industry of China, propose the suggestion that the defined land property right and advocates the housing gradient expense; the intensive use land and the housing layout is reasonable; the development intensity is suitable and the density moderate mix.
