| More and more scholars pay their attention to industrial agglomeration. The existing studies focus mainly on the concept and actualities of industrial agglomeration as well as the effects it has on FDI inflow, producing efficiency, industrial competitiveness, etc. There are few people who studied the factors that influence the industrial agglomeration itself, especially from the econometrics' perspective. In order to rich the existing studies, this paper focus on the manufacturing agglomeration in both Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces. We use econometric methods to study the determinants of the manufacturing agglomeration of the two provinces. Then, comparison between the outcomes are introduced. Thoroughly, industrial agglomeration is a complicated phenomenon. We can separate industrial agglomeration into several types. As to each type of industrial agglomeration, both common affecting factors that influence all types of industrial agglomeration and specific affecting factors that influence only one or more type of industrial agglomeration are included in the affecting factor box. The common affecting factors mainly include the infrastructure and services, while the specific affecting factors, for example, refer to FDI if the industrial agglomeration is outward-oriented, etc. The local government plays very important role in the development of the local industrial agglomeration. The correct views and effect measures it takes on local industrial agglomeration can improve the development of industrial agglomeration greatly. |
