| UMT(urban mass transit railway) with high speed, large volume, low power consumption, light pollution, covers many advantages such as less land occupation, it is an important tool to solve traffic problems in big cities. With the success of Beijing's bid to host the 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing ushered in unprecedented opportunities for the development of rail transportation. However, due to the quasi-public UMT product attributes, it leads to huge investment projects and poor profitability; therefore it is very difficult to raise funds. The traditional pattern of investment and financing of urban rail traffic and business model has been unable to meet the needs of its rapid development. Both inefficient and a huge shortfall in funds for the reality shows it increasingly important to study the mode of development of rail transportation in Beijing. Hong Kong MTR Corporation Limited is the world's few companies able to make a profit in the MTR. Integrated transport link to the land and the development of a market-oriented mode of operation are its characteristics and profitability of the major reasons. Seriously studying the profitability model for urban rail transportation system and its deep-rooted factors behind the realization of the rapid and healthy development of rail transportation in Beijing has a very important reference.This paper analyzes the reasons for the traffic problems in Beijing.It makes the point that the development of rail transportation is the inevitable choice and important initiatives to solve traffic problems in Beijing. Hong Kong has achieved marked results in the development of rail transportation. Based on the analysis in the profit model of Hong Kong MTR Corporation Limited and its system security,the paper makes a summary of market-oriented business model and the role of land and the joint development of the MTR.Based on Hong Kong model in the study , Beijing will draw on its experience in the development of urban rail transportation practice.At last the paper makes the analysis of the development of rail transportation in Beijing process of the establishment of a market-oriented operation and enhancing land management. |
