As the important member of commercial banking business, retail banking has a long history and developed very well in western countries. In 2003, the contribution degree of retail banking was over 50% in Citi-bank profit and these years net profit of Britain large commercial banks has reached over 5 billion pounds per year. Retail banking has become the main profitable banking business. Now one issue of Chinese financial reforms is the fast development of retail banking, which is well led by the fast increase of Chinese people's wealth. According to the condition of Chinese entrance to WTO, foreign banks can do business in China relatively freely, but their multi-style business and high quality service may occupy Chinese top market. So Chinese commercial banks need to prepare for this in advance and develop in a faster speed than them to face the coming competition. All these are reasons for my article.My article tried to find Chinese commercial banking develop strategy through analysis of Chinese retail banking present situation. Structurally, the first chapter is presentation of retail banking theories and articles out-in China, esp. those revolutionary stimulative specific business kinds of theories. The second chapter is conclusion of western retail banking experience and they are "customer-centered idea", financial creation and good use of information science. The third chapter is nowadays Chinese retail banking situation and problems. The fourth chapter includes strategies for Chinese retail banking development. The two layers' reforms are very necessary: macro-part, the government and micro-part, the commercial banks. The important parts are: improvement of law and management, construction of banking committee, accomplishment of social credit system and good use of new rate risk model...
