Since the 1990s, Transnational corporation, as the present principal pillar and decisive force of world economy, has been exerting influence on world politics, economy, culture and various fields, and has been playing the significant role in measuring a nation's comprehensive power and international competitiveness.Under the new circumstances of the globalization of economy and China's entrance into WTO, it has become very essential and important that we should improve our open policy and socialist market economy and make full use of'two resources, two markets', and that the Chinese enterprises should be able to voluntarily step out and operate transnationally. There have been some Chinese enterprises taking part in the world economic competition and having made remarkable achievements. However, the transnational management of our corporation, still in its initial stage, compared with that of the developed countries, still has a long way to go before the establishment of its own transnational corporations. For instance, the issues in the aspect of government policy and the enterprise itself have greatly hindered the transnational management of Chinese enterprises. This thesis generalizes the connotation of corporate transnational management by the comparison and analysis of related concepts, elicits the key modes of present transnational operations of Chinese firms, and elaborates the significance for the firms to actively participate in transnational management under new circumstances. It discovers the causes of the problems encountered by Chinese firms in transnational management out of the two perspectives——the external and internal of the firm, by way of case generalization and analysis, and proposes countermeasures for boosting a sound and sustainable development for our companies in their transnational management based on the study of the successful practices of foreign firms.
