The Research Of WUXI DIC Epoxy Co., Ltd For Procurement Model

In the near future, China will become the biggest market to consume epoxy resin in the world. Meanwhile epoxy resin industry has played important role in China national economy. WUXI DIC Epoxy Co., Ltd. (thereafter it is abbreviated as WUXI DIC) was founded in 1997. It has very good reputation in China epoxy industry with its superior product quality. Moreover its foundation has promoted the domestic production development on brominated epoxy resin. Along with the trends of globalization and complication, the competition of domestic epoxy resin manufacturers is becoming fierce. Foreign big epoxy resin makers also started participation of market share competition in China. In order to enhance the competitiveness of epoxy resin enterprise, procurement can become strategic factor to achieve the ultimate goal of enterprise. This paper involves the adoption of new concept of procurement at WUXI DIC, and establishment of JIT/SCM procurement model in order to ensure timely procurement and continuous production. Thus the procurement cost can be controlled and ultimately value can be created and added by operation. This paper also conducts research and discussion on problems resulted from conflicts of new and old mentality at WUXI DIC along with both external and internal environmental change by means of procurement model of JIT/SCM.This paper has five chapters. In Chapter I, it introduces epoxy resin and raw material market background of WUXI DIC, and brings forward some problems occurred during procurement process by using new procurement model under the increasingly complicated purchasing environment and globalization trend. Moreover, Chapter II describes the new theory adopted at procurement process at WUXI DIC, focuses on introduction of procurement model of JIT/SCM and the usage of IT to control and standardize procurement behaviors.
