Study On Application Of Lean Thinking In Construction Industry

Lean construction is one of important field of research on application of modern Lean Thinking. This paper introduces firstly current situation of domestic construction industry, discloses main problems exiting in this industry, address the difference between our country's construction industries and foreign, and suggest applying lean thinking into construction. This paper summarizes the origin and development process and the main theory and methodology of Lean Construction. And this paper indicate the core ideas by analyzing its flowchart and value chain used in lean thinking; and develops further the real- time plan and control system (LPS) based on the foreign latest research result. And basing on the domestic construction enterprise's practice, this paper analyzes the application in constructions, and describe the essential methodology of achieve the three control objective, and construct a basic framework for enterprise's practices and further research. The main research results of this paper are as follows:Firstly, this paper reviews synthetically the efficiency of our country's construction industry, and analyzes the difference between domestic construction industry and foreign, and indicate the great significance of lean construction to our construction industry.Secondly, this paper summarizes the origin and development of lean construction; analyze the core thinking and methodology, and set the premises for execution of lean construction.Thirdly, this paper analyzes the activities in construction processes using flowchart analysis and value analysis of lean thinking, and analyzes the feasibility of execution of lean construction. And this paper redefines and decomposes the value of construction, and sketch the value chain and value network of construction.Fourthly, this paper improves the real-time plan and control method invented by foreign scholar based on the latest research result, and introduces the control indicators on cost and resources consuming.Fifthly, according to our country's construction practice, this paper combines the lean thinking with construction practices, and introduces the primary methodology such as JIT,ABC and TQM, and construct the theory framework of Lean Construction.Finally, this paper prognosticates the future of lean construction under the tendency of network economics, and creates the concept of MICK-4FI and E-construction and research elementary principle for E-construction.
