The power industry worldwide is experiencing unprecedented restructuring for breaking traditional monopoly, introducing competition and establishing electric markets. The power industry in China is now under the way of restructuring and generation markets are expected to be established. As a result, competition has been introduced in generation sector through bid-based operation. In the new electric market environments, profits of generation companies depend, to a large extent, on bidding strategies employed. Hence, how to develop optimal bidding strategies has become a major concern of generation companies. This dissertation based an WuJiang hydropower development corporation's data and make research on relative question of it's competitive strategies.The similarities and differences among repayment of capital with interest pricing (RCI pricing), the operation period pricing and the marginal cost pricing(MC pricing)are examined by the case of WuJiang hydropower development corporation. It indicate that it is important and inevitable to reform RCI pricing, to popularize OP pricing and to transfer to MC pricing in WuJiang hydropower development corporation.It analyses the reason of market power, the measurement index for market power and the method for reducing market power. Through the analyses for GuiZhou electric market, it can be concluded that the GuiZhou electric market is a normal market without market congestion and a market of concentrating to heavens when hypothetic market congestion which is caused by restrict of transmission capacity exists.Each power plant wants to maximize its profits using different strategies. The dissertation analyses the quoted actions of generation companies of GuiZhou electric market basing on complete information static game theory, establishes competitive model which considers generator's capability limit , uses nonlinear programming questions' solution to conclude that Nash-equilibrium point of game model is the K-T point of the nonlinear programming question. At last, The dissertation analyses competitive model of complete information which considers generator's capability limit using GuiZhou electric market's simplify data and gets its bidding functions and bidding circle which is used to give bidding strategies.
