Air cargo is an important part of the whole logistics industries. To improve the operational efficiency of logistics and supply chain, new techniques and higher customer service level are key issues and should be addressed considerably.This paper studies the outbound logistics optimization for international arriving flights'goods based on the analysis of the current status of air cargo outbound delivery system. There are as follows.Chapter one introduces the basis for air cargo outbound logistics and its operations. In addition, research significant and research methods are given.In chapter two, flowchart of air cargo outbound system are described by the methods of work and time study. Moreover, some issues that affect the system efficiency are identified such as long delivery times, unreasonable usage of vehicles, uncontrollable load and deliver operations and so forth. Preliminary optimal strategies are therefore presented.Chapter three investigates the air cargo outbound system without time windows requirements, and a mathematical model is built. Some bin packing based approximation algorithms including FFR,CR,CRM are presented. Computational tests are also given to show the efficiency of these algorithms.In chapter four, another version of the model in previous chapter with time windows is considered. Two algorithms of DT and TW are proposed, and computational experiments are also given to compare their performances.In chapter five, an information management system of air cargo outbound is designed and implemented to provide system support for practical operations of outbound air cargo logistics.Conclusion and future research directions could be found in chapter six.
