It is always discussed whether to go self-developing way or go entirely open way. Especially since China joined WTO, the debate becomes more and more furious. Which way Chinese auto Industry should go and how to do it are the biggest questions today. This paper stands on this point to study on developing route and developing strategy of Chinese auto Industry.At first, this paper sum up the research result of auto Industry developing strategy and then analyses the actuality of Chinese and international auto market. After that, this paper analyses the developing environment of Chinese auto Industry. The analysis of environment includes the policy, economy, technology, the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese auto Industry, the opportunities and the threats that the Chinese auto Industry faces.Secondly, after analyzing possibility of going self-developing way or going entirely open way, this paper bring forward the third developing route——develop with opening and gain independence in developing. And then this paper analyses the whole developmental strategic of Chinese car industry base on the third developing route.At last, this paper analyses Chinese auto Industry's marketing strategy, technology strategy and product strategy. Marketing strategy and product strategy aim at"develop with opening", technology strategy aims at"gain independence in developing". Then this paper use the method studied in it to analyze the product strategy of Jiefang Truck Company.
