The idea of this paper is coming from the main problem which is faced by Chinese corporations- the human resource crisis. First, the paper point out that the main reason for the coming into being of this crisis is the problem of the compensation structure. Then, on the basis of analyzing the main problems of compensation structure, the paper induces the conception of broadbanding compensation. The pattern of broadbanding compensation springs up in America and is universally adopted by many multinational corporations at present. While whether it is suitable for Chinese corporations? This is the main problem which will be studied in this paper. By going deep into discussion of the relative compensation theory and incentive theory, this paper analyzes the characteristic, strongpoint and shortcoming of the structure of the broadbanding compensation entirely. On this basis, it discusses the technique, method and process of the design of broadbanding compensation, as well as the application condition and the problem need to be mostly noticed etc. Finally, there is a case study about the design and application technique of broadbanding compensation pattern, and it confirms the discussion of this paper.Said to the enterprise that, Using the salary appropriately can attract, detain and drive talented person, may enhance the enterprise fruitfully the strength and the competitive power, but uses it unproperly can bring the crisis to the enterprise. Without a doubt, establishes comprehensively, scientific salary management system has a vital significance to cultivate core competitive ability and the competitive advantage, obtain the enterprises' sustainable development to the enterprise in the knowledge economy time. Therefore, the continual readjustment and the consummation of salary system is an urgent duty which the current enterprise faces. The broadbanding compensation structure is one kind of improvement or the substitution to the traditional vertical structure which has massive ranks. Comparing with the traditional compensation structural design, the broadbanding compensation mainly has following merit:1. It reduced the rank difference between work ,broke the rank system which traditional salary structure defended and strengthened .
