With the amazing achievement in transgenic research, the genetically modified technology has been widely applied in agriculture, which created tremendous benefit to our economy and society. Along with this the international controversy on the safety of Genetically Modified Foods ( GM foods ) is becoming in tenser. Based On the potential threat of GM foods to environment and the human health, some developed countries, such as EU & JAPAN began to regulate the consumer production activity. For the same reason, China has put the regulations of GM foods into practice and classified soybean as the first group of agriculture products, which must mark their transgenic identity on sale.Although the object of the regulations of the genetically modified foods (RGM) is to protect environment and consumer, it may bring the certain influence to the soybean trade After analyzed on the RGM function mechanism and discriminated the influencing factor of the soybean trade, the paper focus on the impact of the RGM to soybean trade, and try to explain the policy means of the search as well as give the corresponding suggestion.According to the above research target, this research put forward two hypotheses: one is that the RGM can be used as the trade technique barracks to control the gene soybean imports; the other is that the RGM will promote Chinese soybean exports. For realizing above research target, firstly we deduced to the possible impact of the RGM on the soybean trade theoretically, then we proceeded the evidence examines by establish the model. But there is widely difference between the investigative result and the expected theories, then the thesis gave explain to these contradiction.Synthesizing the former Analysis before, we get the basic conclusion is that: While the RGM can be used to control the importation of the gene soybean in short-term, it is useless in the long-term. What's more, it cannot promote the export of the Chinese soybean. Our suggestion is:Firstly, we should further perfect the RGM policy, making it even matches to the state.
