| The construction of the Three Gorges Dam makes the water level of Yangtse River higher than before. Some ancient towns, traditional scenic pots and a lot of villages were forced to taken away. This accelerates the urbanization of the area and makes some new transplanting towns erect. Because the construction of these towns has been finished in a short time, the urban open space systems have not formed or increased organically. How to protect the traditional scenic pots and urban environments and how to make the urban physical spatial sustainable is an urgent affair. Furthermore, the study of urban open space is less in China.On this condition, this study was put forward. The study is hoped to give some constructive suggestions to the build of these transplanting towns and attract other scholars to pay attention to the study of urban open space of The Three Gorges.There three representative transplanting mountain towns were chosen in this study. They are Zigui, Xingshan and Badong. On the basis of field survey and collecting data, the urban open space systems of the three towns are contrasted and analyzed. And the planning configuration of the systems, the design of idiographic urban open spaces, the distribution and using condition of the traditional scenic pots were analyzed. Thus, the feature of space structure, local culture, scale limited by the mountainous regions, protection of urban biology diversity of the urban open space were concluded. It was also discussed that the shortage of these urban open space systems. Finally, the mending measure was suggested. |
