Study On Enterprise IT Governance And Its Effectiveness

Following the global information tidal wave, information technology has become important resource for enterprises, and IT governance capability is becoming core competence. The study of IT governance and its effectiveness is helpful for us to grasp the scientific meanings of them, which provide a new view of enterprise information technology reform. By the analysis of the design of IT governance capability and influence factors of governance effectiveness, enterprise can grasp them from key processes, insure that IT would achieve organizational strategic goals, and improve enterprise core competence.This paper focuses on enterprise IT governance, and develops by the following two subjects: summarize the meanings and models of IT governance, study the basic characteristics of its mechanism and effectiveness, then designs the appraisal systems of IT governance capability and effectiveness based on the Resource-Based view. Through the empirical approach analyses the influence of IT governance capability indexes and IT governance effectiveness, and also the different stages and industries top enterprise governance models. Based on the above, we conclude the characteristics of top enterprise IT governance.The main conclusions are: governance competence is the decisive factor of governance effectiveness, and other factors have significant influence on it. This paper mainly analyses the influence of enterprise stage and industry, and conclude the top enterprise IT governance structure, consequently sums up the characteristics of top enterprise IT governance, which is strong governance consciousness of executives, clear IT and enterprise goals, well designed governance capability, low change frequency and high continuity of IT governance policies. Through the compare of top enterprise, enterprises can search the disadvantages and improve their IT governance effectiveness.
