Research On Sustainable Development Of Cruise Tourism In South China

As the world cruise industry moving to the East,"Chinese factor"status is gradually highlighted; the investigation in Asian market of international cruise companies shows a rapid upward trend; the visit of cruise is also increasing. Contributing to its special geographical location and historical culture background, China is becoming an important cruise travelling destination and a focus of cruise companies'concern. Government attaches great importance to the cruise tourism development and the facilities in coastal port also keep improving. Coastal cities has a lot of interest in the development of cruise tourism, but due to the huge investment, long-time retrieval and high risk, they can't develop cruise tourism blindly but should plan and layout it in a more macroscopic perspective, avoid resource waste and redundant project and finally achieve sustainable development. This paper attempts to analyze the abroad cruise destination and summarize its development conditions and construct indicator system. It cites Guangzhou as an example, analyzing its advantage and disadvantage as developing cruise tourism and trying to figure out how Guangzhou could achieve sustainable development based on the cruise development conditions. This paper then analyzes the developing cruise tourism conditions of Guangzhou, Sanya and Beihai and finally concludes that they should intensify the sustainable development support, draw up plans, improve the construction of coastal cities, establish own cruise tourism brand, enhance the training for professionals and create environment protection system etc.
