Research On Chinese Cross-border M & A

As a main way of Foreign Direct Investment, cross-border merger and acquisition (cross-border M&A) has been paid more attention by many countries, the strategic significance for development of Chinese enterprises is also very important, so the research on cross-border M&A is necessary. This paper is intended to detect cross-border M&A's own characteristics of the Chinese enterprises by comparative analysis, in order to recognize the direction of development of cross-border M&A. At the beginning, the paper introduces the meaning of cross-border M&A, and reviews the waves of cross-border M&A of the world and China. Through comparing Greenfield Investment with cross-border M&A, which are two ways of Foreign Direct Investment, we find that Cross-border M&A is a better choice for Chinese enterprises'development overseas; Based on a lot of studies about data and cases of Chinese enterprises, the paper elaborates the motivation of cross-border M&A. Comparing with the United States and India, it illustrates the current situation of Chinese cross-border M&A. At last, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of cross-border M&A, the paper gives the strategy of Chinese Cross-border M&A.
