Research On The Mechanism Of Impact Of Technology Managment Capability On New Product Development Performance

New product development(NPD) as an important part in business process is a major source of profits and plays an increasingly important role in market competition. Therefore, many enterprises put a lot of manpower, material and finance in NPD in China, but the success rate of NPD is not high or not suitable for the enterprise development and market demand. The main reason is that the enterprise ignores the impact of technology management on NPD. The issue how the technology management capability affects NPD performance has not been well resolved in theory and practice. For those the paper conducts research to reveal the mechanism of technology management capability effect on NPD performance and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to provide experiences enhancing NPD performance.The thesis firstly analyzes the operation process of the technology management and puts forward the constitution dimensions of technology management capability from the dynamic point of view. Based on previous researches the thesis sums up the constitution dimensions of knowledge absorptive capability. The thesis analyzes the direct effect of technology management capability on NPD performance, and then analyzes the impact of technology management capability on the knowledge absorptive capability and the role of knowledge absorptive capability on NPD performance. Based on this, the thesis identifies the mediating effect of knowledge absorptive capability on technology management capability affecting NPD performance and proposes the theoretical hypothesis. Based on the constitution dimensions of technology management capability, knowledge absorptive capability and NPD performance, the thesis designs a questionnaire, conducts a survey and collects data, and then tests the theoretical hypothesis with the statistical software. Based on the theoretical analysis and hypothesis testing, the thesis construts the mechanism model of technology management capability affectiong NPD performance. Finally, from the technology management capability components: search capability, choice capability, implementation capability and learning capability the thesis puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to strengthen technology management capability's direct effect on NPD performance and the mediating effect of knowledge absorptive capability to promote NPD performance.
