Fresh food is one of most important deteriorating products, which mainly includes fruit, vegetable, meat, aquatic products and some primary processed products. Besides easily deteriorating, fresh food processes some special characteristics, for example, some fresh food can only be produced in a specific region or season. In addition, transportation and storage of fresh food require strict conditions for keeping fresh and value of fresh food is affected by its freshness.China's fresh food industry has a large scale and processes great growth potential. However, due to lack of preservation facilities, advanced preservation technology and logistics supply chain theory, lots of fresh food deteriorates before transported to consumers during long circulation time. In order to solve the problem of restricting development of China's fresh food industry, research on fresh food logistics theory is urgently needed, besides hardware construction. Currently, research on fresh food logistics theory is mainly focused on qualitative research, while less attention is paid to quantitative research on fresh food inventory control. Moreover, quantitative research on fresh food inventory control is not systematic and specific. This paper considers features of fresh food, make a full study of freshness of fresh food, summarizes existed research on freshness function and make expansion for some freshness function. Then, for specific fresh food, with its product and supply chain features considered, single-level and multi-level fresh food inventory models are adaptively developed based on freshness for stochastic and deterministic demand. Finally, based on above research, banana's preservation features and its supply chain characteristics are studied, one of formulated inventory models is applied to optimize one banana supply chain of Beijing XinFaDi agricultural products wholesale market, which proves the model feasible and practical. |
