Relationship manager is the marketing person who is responsible for outside relations, basing themselves on traditional transaction, advocating new transaction, coordinating the relationship between bank and clients, providing services of deposit, loan, transfer for the clients, developing new market. Advocating client relationship manager system is the new attempt of furthering commercial system reform, changing the management concept, exploring the combination with international market, developing new transaction. So, it has significant theoretical and practical meaning to strengthen theoretical probe and research on the construction of commercial bank relationship managers from multiple perspectives, and establish the model of commercial bank relationship competence.Foreign and domestic research of the idea of building a competency model, has the following two questions: One is: Most of the studies apply directly to general management personnel, few of the specific job competency model development; The other is: Most of the studies that already exist under the competency dictionary, there is no independent build competency dictionary.This makes build targeted competency model is not strong. In practice, banks pay more attention to Relationship manager's role, and hence the qualities of the derived demand.Therefore, this study change our thinking. Through the relationship between competency and role studies have found that to become a good manager of commercial relationship manager, he does not lie in the amount of professional knowledge and skills, the key lies in whether he can in an interactive process has always been clearly aware of their identity or role, and on this basis, flexible use of knowledge, skills. In other words, knowledge and skills is only linked to specific roles can really play their role.In this study the integrated use of empirical research through interviews and questionnaire survey method, obtained role definition of relationship manager and relationship manager's role expectations from customers. to develop China's commercial banks relationship manager competency model.
