With the prosperous development of China's economy, the problem of industrial pollution is becoming more and more serious in China. This is the issue where a controversy arises, which is about whether business managers should put more emphases on their responsibilities to the nature environment. Even though it is a clear understanding that managers are required to be concern about the pollutions made in production processes, it seems difficult for them to totally obey this kind of requirement. The reason is that the average avenue of Chinese has not been exceeded the critical value of the Kuznets Curve. In other words, managers cannot practice environmental-friendly policies without any cost of the profits in recent China. Thus, those managers have to lay particular stress on environmental-friendly policies or profits. We explain their dilemma according to the theory experimental study of managers' attention allocation and collectivism. In details, we explore the influences of three independent variables, including exposed level of firm, firm size, and satisfaction to profits, to our dependent variable, attention allocation of managers. In addition, we consider the positive influences of collectivism to the above relationships. Also, we describe how the attention allocation influences strategic decisions of mangers. We discuss the above issues by four main chapters. The first one reviews the initiative and the research methods based on the researches at home and abroad. The second chapter refers to the design of variables, the selection of samples, as well as the measurement of constructs. The next displays the process and results of empirical study in order to test our hypotheses. Finally, we summarize our results and further explore the implications for management practice. All the five implications include that:1) The improvement of exposed level of firm promotes managers to allocate more attention on environment protection.2) The enlargement of firm size impels managers to pay more attention to environment-friendly policies.3) The increasing satisfaction of profits lets managers to put more emphases on issues to protect environment.4) The building of collectivism can positively influence the managers'environment-protection awareness.5) The perspective of attention can well explain managers'strategic activities.
