Study Of Introduction Of International Hotel Management Training Mode In Shanghai

In recent years, the number of hotels in Shanghai increased dramatically by Shanghai Expo and Disney project. Under the rapid development of Shanghai hospitality industry, the requirement for hotel talent increased as well, which results in a large demand of hotel professionals who have advanced knowledge of hotel operations and skills of service techniques. However, results of a survey on current employment situation of hotel management university students showed that they cannot meet the requirement of hospitality industry. Therefore, based on the needs of Shanghai hotel talents, this dissertation made a discussion on the introducing modes and channels of international hotel training which should be used in Shanghai. The solutions and suggestions which weie given to solve the related introducing problems have a realistic instructional mean to the development of Shanghai.This dissertation has 5 chapters. Chapter 1 gave a brief of the purpose, value and structure of this dissertation. After a deep research and analyze on related journal, monograph, internet, and a survey about hotel human resource in chapter 2, the insufficient points of hotel management training mode in Shanghai higher education schools and Shanghai local hotels were summarized. In the third chapter, firstly, an introduction to the 3 training modes of Les Roches was given. Secondly, after a comparison of the training modes between Les Roches international school of hotel management and other international and national hotel training schools, the characteristics of the Les Roeches training modes were listed. Lastly, through the statistics data oi academic satisfaction and employment situation oi Les Roches Jin Jiang Hotel Management school who is the first one using the Les Roches training modes in Shanghai, the superiorities of its hotel management training mode were analyzed. According to the characteristics of the Les Roeches training modes and the effort on hotel management training by Les Roches Jin Jiang, in chapter 4, from the points of view of Shanghai higher education schools, Shanghai local hotels and tourism department of Shanghai government, several ways were suggested for introducing the Les Roches hotel management training modes into Shanghai. In the fifth chapter, based on the ways for introducing the Les Roches training modes, some suggestions were given to solve the problems which might come out after implement of the new modes.Due to Les Roches training mode has been introduced by Jin Jiang Int'l Group for a short period, and examples of international training modes introduced by other institutes in Shanghai are limited. To increase the hotel management training level of Shanghai, whether international training modes can be taken as a long-term tool still needs to proven by practice.
